All About the 2022 Buffalo Chip Whiskey at the Buffalo Chip

Buffalo Chip American Whiskey

We love the Buffalo Chip American Whiskey. And since our fundraiser, the Flying Piston Benefit Builders Breakfast, is at the Chip, we thought we would talk about their product in hopes of a donation. If we don’t get a donation, we still have the opportunity to put our feet up, relax, and sip the chip.

How’s it taste?

It starts with hardy notes of butterscotch and caramel. The amber liquor is sweet while still allowing the bold spice of rye to shine through. Towards the finish, you will find the mellow oaky and vanilla notes from the perfectly aged bourbon. Perfect!

“Our namesake comes from the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota,” says Alton Climer, CEO of Buffalo Chip American Whiskey. “It’s best known for being home to hundreds of thousands of bikers every year at the big Sturgis rally. We teamed up with the owner of the Buffalo Chip and began building our dream team.”

Gold Medal in 2021

Rod “Woody” Woodruff, aspiring to build on the legendary reputation of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, commissioned the creation of a world-class whiskey. At 92 proof it continues the legacy of a lifestyle of adventure. It’s 2 four-and-a-half-year-old bourbon’s, one’s a wheat and one’s a Rye, with a touch of 6-year-old corn whiskey. It won the gold medal in 2021 at the New York International Spirits Competition (blind taste test). It’s good, neat, on the rocks, and makes great cocktails.

As of this year, 2022 Buffalo Chip Whiskey American Whiskey has solidified its place as a top brand in the industry, with an unprecedented amount of quality releases within the last 2 years.
