Some artists ask you to look. Keith Sturgeon — better known as Skeeter of Skeeter’s Grafix — makes you lean in.

That is the difference.
At first, you see a portrait. A face. A shape. A piece of art with depth, shadow, and attitude. Then you get closer. That is when the reveal happens. The image is not built the way your mind first told you it was built.
It is pinstripe work. / Done by hand. / Line by line.
Skeeter has made a name for himself by creating portrait-style artwork using pinstriping, a craft usually associated with cars, bikes, tanks, helmets, and old-school custom culture. But in Skeeter’s hands, pinstriping becomes something more deceptive, more detailed, and more personal. It becomes visual misdirection with a steady hand behind it.

His work pulls you in, then rewards you for paying attention.
Skeeter’s path into art did not start with some perfect studio story. It started when an injury took him off the job. Some people would have treated that as the end of momentum. Skeeter treated it like a hard left turn into something better.
He picked up the craft, stayed with it, and never looked back.
Today, he works primarily with oil-based enamel, creating pieces for cars, bikes, and custom projects. He is also beginning to add 3D elements to his work, pushing his art into new territory while keeping one foot firmly planted in traditional hand-made craft.

That matters.
Because ART-on-DECK is not about mass-produced decoration. It is about artists with stories. Artists with grit. Artists who understand that a deck can become more than a surface. It can become a statement, a collectible, and a reason for people to raise their hand when the auction starts.
Skeeter fits that world.
He owns and rides a Harley. He knows the motorcycle community from the inside. He understands the friendships, the charity rides, the garage conversations, the handshakes, and the people who show up when something matters.
For Skeeter, helping matters.
He believes veterans need support. He believes kids deserve a stronger start. And he believes art can help make that happen.
That is what makes his participation in the Flying Piston Benefit ART-on-DECK program so fitting. His work does not just sit there. It starts a conversation. It creates a reaction. It makes people stop, step closer, and realize that what they are seeing was created by hand, with patience, discipline, and purpose.
And that reaction is the payoff.
Skeeter says one of the best parts of his work is watching people realize what they are actually looking at once they get close.
That moment — the pause, the double take, the grin — is where his art lives.
Keith “Skeeter” Sturgeon brings skill, motorcycle culture, charity-minded purpose, and a little visual trickery to ART-on-DECK.
