Providing Bikes to Kindergartner P.E. Classes
At the Flying Piston Benefit we are proud that we have helped to establish over 1,000 schools and helped to train over 200,000 kiddos on how to ride a bike. This year alone we will see over 120,000 kiddos on 2 wheels. It’s a good cause in helping our kids to remain active and learn a skill for life.
Why it’s Important to Ride: Biking in a group setting goes beyond physical and cognitive benefits; it’s a social and emotional catalyst for kindergartners. The National Association for the Education of Young Children notes that group activities like biking with peers foster teamwork, communication, and cooperation.
Riding together cultivates camaraderie and friendship, enhancing positive social interactions. These shared experiences contribute significantly to emotional development, building resilience and a crucial sense of belonging.
The Benefit of the Ride: Learning to ride a bike in kindergarten is more than the joy of pedaling—it’s a powerful tool, nurturing physical health, cognitive abilities, and essential social skills in our youngest learners. Click here for the action steps and science in creating self-esteem.
